About B64Decoder
B64Decoder is a free browser-based toolkit for encoding and decoding UTF-8 text with standard Base64 or Base64URL, converting images to data URLs, and percent-encoding URL components.
What the tools do
- Base64 encoder and decoder: converts UTF-8 text using standard Base64 or unpadded Base64URL.
- Image encoder: reads an image with the browser FileReader API and returns raw Base64 or a data URL.
- URL encoder and decoder: applies JavaScript
encodeURIComponentordecodeURIComponent. - Base64 guide: explains the RFC 4648 alphabets, padding, uses, and limitations.
All converter inputs are processed by client-side JavaScript. B64Decoder does not send the text or selected image to an application endpoint. Optional Google Analytics loads only after consent and measures site usage, not converter input.
Technical boundaries
The main decoder returns UTF-8 text. It does not turn arbitrary decoded binary bytes into a downloadable file. Base64 is reversible encoding, not encryption, hashing, or compression. Standard Base64 and Base64URL use different characters for values 62 and 63.
Who publishes B64Decoder
Dynamic Foundries, a French SASU registered in Paris under RCS Paris 102 801 206, publishes B64Decoder. The site is hosted on OVH infrastructure in Gravelines, France. Legal and data-processing details are available in the legal notice and privacy policy.
